BAGUIO: Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia emphasized that completing one's education is a significant way for young individuals to demonstrate patriotism. Speaking as the guest speaker at the 128th anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal's martyrdom, he highlighted the national hero's profound regard for education as a testament to one's love for the country.
According to Philippines News Agency, Vice Admiral Valencia stated that contributing to the nation does not necessitate becoming a doctor, writer, or revolutionary. He praised Rizal's commitment to education, describing it as a crucial element of demonstrating patriotism. "Rizal's regard for education is really laudable. He valued it as a sign of one's love for country," Valencia remarked.
During the event, Valencia stressed the importance of ensuring that the youth receive proper education as a means to secure the nation's future and progress. He encouraged individuals to reflect on Rizal's life and consider how they can emulate his values.
