Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) has mobilized frontline forces for immediate rescue and evacuation operations amid widespread flooding caused by torrential rains. Additional personnel and assets are also on standby to scale up responses in hardest-hit areas.

According to Philippines News Agency, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated, "Our personnel and our resources have been closely monitoring and conducting real-time response in coordination with the LGUs (local government units) and other frontline services. We (have) made available as many personnel and resources for evacuation and other disaster response." Nartatez assured the public that personnel are fully prepared for emergency deployments, while advising communities to monitor official channels and refrain from sharing unverified online updates that could cause unnecessary panic.

The widespread flooding and severe traffic from the unrelenting, monsoon-driven tropical cyclones have crippled major thoroughfares across Luzon, forcing LGUs to conduct emergency evacuations. "We urge the public to remain calm but vigilant and heed the advice of authorities for your own safety," Nartatez emphasized.

Police units across Central Luzon have been actively assisting flood-affected communities through search and rescue, evacuation assistance, and relief distribution operations. Consolidated data from Police Regional Office-3 and the Office of Civil Defense-3 showed that 618 families or 2,039 individuals were taking shelter in 46 evacuation centers across the region.

Severe flooding has impacted at least 132 villages across Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales. Additionally, eight roads and one bridge in Bulacan, as well as one road in Pampanga, were reported impassable as of the latest updates.
