Quezon city: At least 1,643 families, totaling 5,898 individuals, have been evacuated to designated shelters in Quezon City as of 8 a.m. on Monday. The city is experiencing flooding due to persistent rains caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon, locally known as 'habagat.'

According to Philippines News Agency, the Quezon City government has designated evacuation sites in areas vulnerable to flooding or landslides to ensure the safety of residents. The city government assured that it remains on heightened monitoring as the rains continue. "Nakatutok ang Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (QCDRRMD) Emergency Operations Center dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan na dulot ng enhanced southwest monsoon o habagat," it stated, highlighting the alert status of the emergency operations center due to ongoing rainfall.

Response teams are actively deployed across various areas to provide immediate assistance in case of incidents. Data from the city government shows that District 2 recorded the highest number of evacuees, with 1,199 families or 4,565 individuals staying in 10 evacuation sites. In Barangay Bagong Silangan, 2,078 individuals, or 492 families, are accommodated at the Bagong Silangan Elementary School, while 1,699 others are at the New Evacuation Center.

Other evacuees are distributed among the city's six districts. District 1 is housing 101 families or 302 individuals; District 3 has 84 families or 174 individuals; District 4 has 99 families or 340 individuals; District 5 has 104 families or 339 individuals; and District 6 has 56 families or 178 individuals.

The city government emphasized that its Emergency Operations Center is functioning round-the-clock to monitor weather conditions and developments across Quezon City.
