Rizal to Host 2025 Regional S&T Week in Antipolo

Manila: The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 4-A (Calabarzon) is set to stage the 2025 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) at the Ynares Events Center in Antipolo City, Rizal from Aug. 14 to 16. The event carries the theme 'Building Smart and Sustainable Communities.'

According to Philippines News Agency, Harley G. Margallo, Information Officer of the Public Affairs, Relations, and Communications Unit (PARCU), mentioned in a phone interview that the RSTW serves as a crucial platform to showcase science, technology, and innovation (STI) breakthroughs that uplift communities and support regional development. Margallo stated that the theme reflects the agency's commitment to advancing smart, inclusive, and sustainable solutions to both current and emerging challenges in the region. The three-day event is designed to promote innovations contributing to resilient, tech-enabled, and environmentally sustainable communities in Calabarzon.

Key activities include the launch of Science and Technology (S and T) and Teknolohiya at Inobasyon, Kaagapay ng Micro Enterprises (TIKME) exhibits. An onsite launch of the Innovation Hub (iHUB) will be held at the University of Rizal System (URS) - Antipolo Campus, along with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with new partners of the Regional Design and Creativity Hub for Innovation in MSMEs and Education.

Another major event is the onsite launch of the 21st Century Learning Classroom (CLEM) at the Antipolo City National Science and Technology High School. Other highlights include the 3rd Regional Robotics Tournament: RoboClash Finals, the Smart and Sustainable Communities Conference, the AGHAMazing: Natural Dye Painting Forum and Competition, and the Regional Science and Math Quiz Bee Finals - 'Kahusayan sa Sipnayan at Agham (KaySipAg).'

The DOST 4-A invites the public, especially students, educators, innovators, and entrepreneurs, to take part in the celebration and explore how science and technology continue to shape a smarter, more sustainable future for the region.
