Tokyo: Japan is increasingly deploying robots for transportation and sales in office buildings, apartments, stadiums, and other large-scale facilities. This initiative is part of the country's effort to urgently address labor shortages and improve business efficiency by fostering collaboration between robots and humans.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Es Con Field Hokkaido stadium, which serves as the home ground for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters professional baseball team, has implemented a work assistance robot named "Suppot." This robot is designed to transport beer kegs efficiently. It is equipped with the capability to detect and automatically follow its user, and it can carry up to 60 beer kegs at a time. Additionally, another robot is currently undergoing testing to sell food and drinks directly to spectators.
An official from Yamato Holdings Co., a parcel delivery group responsible for managing the operations of these robots, expressed optimism about the potential for such robots to be utilized in various other locations. This reflects a growing trend in Japan to integrate robotic technology into daily business operations, aiming to enhance productivity and address the challenges posed by a shrinking workforce.
