Cebu city: The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) - Region 7 (Central Visayas) has announced an increase in the daily minimum wage for employees and monthly salaries for domestic workers across the region's cities and municipalities. This development is part of the agency's efforts to adjust wages in response to economic conditions.
According to Philippines News Agency, the RTWPB-7 implemented Wage Order No. ROVII-26, which raises the daily minimum wage for private sector workers in Class A areas from PHP501 to PHP540. The Class A category includes the cities of Carcar, Cebu, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Naga, Talisay, and the municipalities of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla, and San Fernando, collectively known as the Expanded Metro Cebu.
Meanwhile, workers in Class B areas will see their daily wage increase from PHP463 to PHP500. Class B covers the cities of Bais, Bayawan, Bogo, Canlaon, Dumaguete, Guihulngan, Tagbilaran, Tanjay, and Toledo, as well as other municipalities not classified under Class A.
The RTWPB-Central Visayas also raised the monthly salaries of domestic workers through Wage Order No. ROVII-DW-05. Under this order, domestic workers in both chartered cities and first-class municipalities, as well as cities and towns in lower categories, will receive a uniform monthly salary of PHP7,000. This is an increase from the previous rates of PHP6,000 and PHP5,000, respectively.
The new wage adjustments are scheduled to take effect on October 4, 2025. Both wage orders were officially issued on September 11 and subsequently published on September 18.
