Manila: The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has announced a reduction in the fuel surcharge from Level 15 to Level 13 for the period of June 1-15, 2026. This adjustment is expected to bring some financial relief to air travelers.

According to Philippines News Agency, the new Level 13 surcharge means passengers on domestic flights could see fees ranging from PHP423 to PHP1,237, while those on international flights might encounter surcharges between PHP1,396.74 and PHP10,385.42, depending on the distance of their journey. This is a reduction from the current Level 15 rates, which range from PHP491 to PHP1,436 for domestic flights and PHP1,621 to PHP12,056 for international flights.

The fuel surcharge is an additional fee airlines impose alongside the base fare to offset costs due to fluctuating oil prices. The CAB has been using a 15-day monitoring and adjustment cycle for these surcharges to manage the impact of fuel cost changes on air travel expenses.

This temporary measure will remain in place until the situation stabilizes or is subject to further modification or cancellation. The CAB advises that airlines wishing to apply or collect the revised fuel surcharges must submit their applications to the Office of the Executive Director before the surcharge takes effect.

The applicable conversion rate for this period is set at PHP61.45 to the U.S. dollar, as stated by the CAB.
