Manila: Top seed Yi-Ching Huang of Chinese Taipei secured a spot in the girls' singles semifinals at the ITF J30 Manila 1 after defeating No. 8 Kim Rae Youn, 7-6 (4), 7-5, at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center hardcourt on Friday. Huang is set to face No. 6 Paweenon Nualsri, who overcame No. 4 Ying Chi Chloe Wong of Hong Kong with scores of 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.
According to Philippines News Agency, No. 2 Seojin Park of South Korea triumphed over No. 7 Pin-Tsen Chou of Chinese Taipei, 6-2, 6-3. No. 3 Pimlaphat Lim of Thailand also advanced after defeating Pimpisa Wongwanitkajon, 6-2, 6-3, setting up a semifinal clash.
In the boys' division, No. 2 Ruochen Gao of China beat No. 5 Kango Endoh of Japan, 6-4, 6-3, to earn a semifinal spot against Japan's qualifier Shun Munetoh, who ousted No. 4 Napat Pattanalertphan of Thailand, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Additionally, No. 6 Kuranosuke Suzuki of Japan advanced to the Final Four after a walkover win against No. 1 seed Luke Jie Xi Ho of Singapore and will face Aoi Ishizaki, who defeated No. 3 Ariyaphol Leekul of Thailand, 6-4, 6-2.
In the doubles competition, fourth seeds Ishizaki and Endoh reached the semifinals by overcoming local players James Vynald Ryle Aquino and Gavin Kraut, 6-3, 6-3. They will compete against the Singaporean team of Leon Wei Xi Ho and Luke Jie Ho, who eliminated top seeds Ariyaphol Leekul and Napat Pattanalertphan, 6-4, 5-7, 10-7. Meanwhile, Ziche Chen and Wei-Cheng Tang of Chinese Taipei progressed to the semis after defeating Andre Harnadi of Singapore and Prachanda Komarla of Australia, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-4.
