Panubli-on Trade Fair Showcases Western Visayas’ Cultural Heritage and Innovation.

ILOILO CITY: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) inaugurated the 21st edition of the Panubli-on regional trade fair, serving as a major marketing platform that highlights the creativity, culture, and heritage of Western Visayas. Since its inception in 2003, the fair has become synonymous with quality craftsmanship and innovation, embodying the region's cultural legacy and forward-looking spirit. According to Philippines News Agency, the event features 185 exhibitors, each occupying one of six distinctive pavilions that represent the unique innovations and creative spirit of the region's provinces. DTI regional director Rachel Nufable emphasized the significance of Panubli-on, noting its evolution into the gold standard of local craftsmanship while maintaining cultural roots. Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, through a message delivered by Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office head Velma Jane Lao, praised the fair as a celebration of Western Visayas' rich cultural heritage and thri ving local industries. Treñas highlighted the event's role in driving economic growth and empowerment, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), while aiding in the preservation of cultural heritage. The fair features a diverse range of products, from handwoven textiles to crafted furniture, culinary delights, and modern fashion collections that echo traditional roots. Additional activities include a forum on food logistics trends, food-tasting series, traditional craft demonstrations, and a local food presentation. A highlight of the fair will be a cook-off on Saturday, featuring chefs from Chaozhou City, China, and Iloilo City, celebrating their UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy status. The five-day event will conclude with a children and gala fashion showcase on Sunday.
