Trump Announces Coca-Cola’s Switch to Cane Sugar in US Products

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that Coca-Cola has agreed to transition to using real cane sugar in its US cola products, a decision he described as 'a very good move by them.' Trump made this statement on Wednesday through his social media platform, Truth Social, highlighting the change in Coca-Cola's sweetener choice.

According to Philippines News Agency, Coca-Cola currently employs high-fructose corn syrup in its US offerings, a practice that has drawn criticism from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. due to health concerns. In contrast, cane sugar remains the primary sweetener in Coca-Cola products in other countries, including Mexico, the UK, and Australia.

Expressing his gratitude, Trump stated, "I'd like to thank all of those in authority at Coca-Cola. This will be a very good move by them - You'll see. It's just better!" Despite Trump's announcement, Coca-Cola has not yet confirmed the switch. The company acknowledged the US president's enthusiasm for the brand and mentioned that details on upcoming product innovations will be shared soon, as reported by media outlets.
